A New Companion

In case you're wondering, Elder Anderson is from Georgia. Oh yeah, and he is 6'9".

Here's the funny story of the week: "We were teaching the crazy guy, Cleveland Thursday night. He stopped in the middle of it and made two drug deals. Then the two homies he dealt to sat in on the rest of the lesson and asked questions for like an hour. Then they all came to church on Sunday. I'm teaching all three of them again next Thursday!" I don't know, could many people other than Nick pull that off and think it was cool? He says he does teach a lot of criminals, more than other missionaries, but that criminals are humbled and need a change so there are some that do get taught. And he says it's fun!

There were two baptisms last weekend and Elders Kraus and Nelson got to come for them. Nick baptized Zavree on Friday and said it was amazing! He said Zavree is doing great and that it was an awesome experience that reassured him he is doing the right thing. On Saturday Tarra and her husband Stan were baptized.
A friend of CJ Spjute's invited the elders over for dinner and she had a friend there, Parker. Parker liked the elders so he played football with them a couple of time and is now taking the lessons. Parker said he has never wanted to talk to the missionaries before, but he feels like he can talk to Nick. Nick says "proof of my theory that the spirit converts people but your personality gets you in the door."

Nick has two new favorite investigators, Michelle and Stephanie. During the time that Nick has been teaching them, they have gone from drinking, smoking, not showing up for appointments, and just being bums to being clean (from smoking and drinking), going to church, keeping appointments, feeding him, and texting him the scores of the Angels games. They told Nick he's one of their favorite missionaries because he's normal. He likes to hear that.
He's had to start biking for the first time. Two companionships share a car, so for half of the six weeks he drives, and half he bikes. But a lot of times they walk or call members for rides.
