It sounds like they are doing lots better in this area than previously, so they're hoping they'll get to stay together longer. It probably wouldn't help their case if the mission president knew about the cat! They bought it for 50 cents. (Wonder where he got that idea, Dyke Huish? At least it's not a wild cat!) The family they live with let them get it, and plan to keep it when the boys are gone. Way nice! I guess Nick forgot that he's allergic to cats. Nick loves the area he's in--Boise just west of downtown. He says it has the feel of a Chicago suberb. He also loves the family he lives with, the Spjutes...they give the boys the whole basement, let them do laundry there, and buy a lot of their supplies...all as a service. Nick loves to get mail, but hasn't been getting much lately. The mission office thinks there might be something wrong with the mail because they aren't getting much. Maybe that's Nick's way of saying "PLEASE WRITE MORE!"
